25. Robbers Cave

Robbers Cave, Caliente, NV

Feb. 23, 2014

Apparently in the olden days, when trains would come through these parts, train robbers would rob the train and then hide in this cave 2 miles away.  There are lots of beautiful rock formations along the way, complete with a little spring and wild horses. A tough hike due to the rocky and very gravely terrain. (Pict taken with my cell phone, forgot my camera! :( )

24. Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon, Caliente Nevada

Lincoln County has so many hidden beauties.  Here is another hike through canyons and washes. Good thing I have friends who pack the heat for the wild beasts who want to eat us. :)

23. Fire Wave

Fire Wave, Valley of Fire State Park

Feb. 21, 2014

This was a really beautiful hike.  The scenery was amazing! This hike was only about 0.6 but seemed to just keep going.  The sandstone here is so pretty with its stripes. Love it!

22. The Mouse Trap

The Mouse Trap, The Valley of Fire State Park

Feb. 21, 2014

Lots of walking in sand on this one.  But a nice hike while the hot sun is behind the cliff wall. There are many petroglyphs in this area and easy to see due to the black rock face.

21. Elephant Rock

Valley of Fire State Park, Overton, Nevada

Feb 21, 2014

Elephant Rock is one of the most viewed sites in VOFSP. It is an easy hike but quite a natural phenomenon. Beautiful in the afternoon light and another gorgeous afternoon of weather.

20. Spring Street to Kershaw Ryan

Caliente to Kershaw Ryan State Park

Feb. 16, 2014

In Caliente, there is a street called Spring Street.  It is steep.  And that is just how this hike stays. Steep.  It was a hard climb up in the back hills of Caliente. Once Ginger and I hit the wash though, it was easy peasy from there.  Beautiful cliffs, lots of caves and beautiful weather! And thanks to George for his high class, drop of the hat, taxi service for me and Ging.  :)

19. Delmar Ghost town

Delmar Ghost town, Lincoln Co, Nevada

Feb 8, 2014

I have always wanted to visit a ghost town.  This was really fun. Something to check off my bucket list.  There were lots of foundations and crumbling buildings, homes and some kind of mining mill.  The area was beautiful. It was set on the sides of mountains and overlooked a amazing valley. Definitely something I would do again and next time I will take my fam.
